RANGERS are today delighted to announce that Ross and Robby McCrorie have signed new contracts at the club.

The academy graduates, 19, have signed new four and a half year contracts that will see them stay at the club until the summer of 2022.

Defender Ross McCrorie has made the breakthrough to the Rangers first team this season, playing in sixteen games since making his debut in the League Cup semi-final win over Partick Thistle.

The versatile defender, who has been playing in the centre of midfield this season as he did in previous loan spells at both Ayr United and Dumbarton, scored his first Gers goal against the Jags in November.

Robby McCrorie was named on the bench by Ally McCoist three years ago and has been training with the first team goalkeepers for some time.

He has yet to make his top team debut, but has this season earned rave reviews and a number of man of the match displays whilst out on loan for this first time, at Berwick Rangers.

Both Ross and Robby have been regular international players for Scotland right through the age groups throughout their development.

Aye, we have been signing quite alot of youngsters but if we do not give them game time for us we are just wasting money training them imho. We seem to have the habit of signing good youngsters only for them to go for nothing and make the next club they go to money we should be getting. We really need to start adding clauses to their resale value when we let them go as we just seem to piss our money away bringing them trough and get nothing in return for me.

We made a massive fuckup when Ally took us through the divisions in playing old washed up players rather than bleed youngsters through which would have saved us a shed load of cash in wages and give us potential money on selling those youngsters on. In doing this we would have shown to young players that if they came to us they would have a very good chance of progressing their career with a great chance of getting game time and putting themselves in the shop window for a move down south where the money is. Instead Ally and the managers after him have bought players with next to no resale value leaving us having to fork out money we don't have.

We are no longer a buying club and the only way to survive in this cespit of a league is to nurture and bring through promising upcoming talent and put them in the shop window imho.

Sadly for Robby, he'll probably spend his 4 ½ years out on loan. No one seems stupid enough to buy Foderingham while he's so well thought of he's undroppable.

As it stands, McCrorie is 4th choice keeper and we have the poorest keepers we've ever had in the top flight in my life time.

Foderingham will be our No.1 until he retires the way people seem to rate him.

Ross however, will go on to captain the club or, will be sold on for millions.

Great news Ross has taken to first team football like a duck to water and although he will have a few bumps along the way , could be our centre half for years.

Robbie was even more highly rated but he is young for a goalie so loans to toughen him up in the lower leagues will help him.
Confident with him and young Kelly we could be covered for years to come.
