JASON CUMMINGS tonight put pen-to-paper on a loan deal with Rangers until the end of the season – and the striker couldn’t keep the smile off his face.
The 22 year-old joins the Light Blues from Nottingham Forest, with Gers having an option to purchase him outright in the summer should his initial spell be a success.
Cummings admitted it was an easy decision to join the Ibrox men, and is now raring to go for what remains of this campaign.
“I’m absolutely delighted to come to such a massive club,” Cummings exclusively told RangersTV. “Once I knew they were interested, there was no question in my mind that I wanted to sign for them.
“My situation down south meant that I wasn’t going to play as much, so I was just wanting to get out there, get game time and get back to enjoying football again.
“I can’t wait to get started now. I asked my agent to try and sort something out, and when I heard Rangers were interested it was just something I couldn’t decline.
“I have always enjoyed playing against Rangers, and hopefully I can enjoy playing on the other side this time.”
The potential to join Rangers permanently is also something which excites the former-Hibernian man, and when asked about that, he replied: “Definitely. It’s such a massive club and it’s a privilege to be here.
“I am going to enjoy this six months and I can’t wait to get out there at Ibrox and wear the blue.”
He’s now eager to get into the swing of things with his new club, and also to making his Ibrox bow.
He added: “I cannot wait and I wish it was today! I can’t wait to meet all the boys, get training, get out there at Ibrox and get back to enjoying football again.”
