Chairman Calls For Second Independent Investigation.

Rangers chairman Dave King calls for investigation into SPFL chairman Murdoch MacLenna

DAVE KING has called for SPFL chairman Murdoch MacLennan to be suspended pending an independent investigation.

MacLennan has been appointed as non-executive chairman of Independent News and Media PLC – a Dublin-based firm which is part owned by Dermot Desmond and his long-term associate Denis O’Brien.

Desmond is the majority shareholder at C***c, while O’Brien bought a minor stake in the club in 2006. The pair own around 45 per cent of the shares in INM.

Ibrox chairman King last week called for a probe into Scottish FA director Gary Hughes after comments he made in a magazine 12 years ago - which referred to Rangers fans as ‘the great unwashed’ - came to light.

And in a statement on Rangers’ website on Tuesday afternoon, King said: “The Club notes with concern the latest disclosure through the media regarding a business relationship which the Chairman of the SPFL has with leading shareholders of a fellow SPFL club.

“This has given rise to allegations of non-disclosure and it is now imperative that we discover exactly the nature of the information supplied to the SPFL regarding this relationship.

“It is equally important that any conflicts of interest, or even the perception of such, whereby positions within the Scottish football authorities could be undermined, or abused, must be aggressively rooted out of our game.

“The SPFL, therefore, must immediately suspend its Chairman pending an independent investigation by a senior QC into the allegations and into the extent that other parties within the SPFL may have cooperated in this alleged non-disclosure. There is a clear prima facie case for this investigation.

“Unfortunately for Scottish football, this incident immediately follows a similar call by myself for an independent non-executive director of the SFA to be suspended under similar circumstances.

“The credibility of Scottish Football in the minds of supporters and sponsors is at stake and urgent action is required.

“Transparency will be key to recovering the confidence of key stakeholders in Scottish football and this cannot be achieved if the SFA and/or the SPFL conduct internal investigations.

“The SPFL and SFA must now appoint independent investigators. Scottish football is an important national asset and must have levels of probity and governance that are beyond reproach and that are transparently so.”

I'd be surprised if we don't see a few more of these examples leaked to the press about how sporting integrity has only been used against us ignoring all the other grubby goings on in Scottish football.
Can't have been hard for King to find the skeletons in closets as no one was hiding the as they thought they were untouchable.

Fuck all will happen. Fenians have got it all sewn up. Said it a million times, let one of these bastards in and they surround themselves with like minded rodents.

At least we’re highlighting it just prior to Gerrard arriving in the hope that this cabal is shown up for what they are the world over.

Unfortunately, I don't think that the lot of them have any sense of common decency or shame, so I doubt they'll care if they are shown for a cabal of inbred sectarian idiots for the whole world to see.

Nothing will happen as they've infiltrated practically every aspect of SFA/SPFL, so it would be like them investigating themselves. OK, it might happen, but nothing will happen and that will take a long time. They'll attempt to get away with this for as long as possible, which could be YEARS!

A lot of damage can be done in that time, especially to RFC.

This should be the “tip” of our questioning Scottish Football Authorities “iceberg” .

For too long now, have those with agendas against us, been able to show continued bias time and time again.

We need continuity in our approach with this and make it our mission to be treated fairly by those who govern our sport or complain at every given opportunity if this does not happen.

The ink was barely dry on the statement when the brush came out "nothing to see here" because being appointed a non executive director of a company part owned by the owner of your biggest rival is no conflict of interest, especially if he is only the SPFL Chairman.
STV and BBC all but dismissed the statement giving it the effect of a petulant child's outburst.
Sporting integrity alive and well in Scotland.

Every department of the SFA and SPFL have been systematically infiltrated by C----c advocates, so much so that it is now absolutely rotten to its very core! Only an idiot (or a benefactor) would defend the arrogant biased appointments and decisions made by the self-righteous "alleged" champions of sporting integrity at both of Scottish footballs governing bodies. It's about time we started making as much noise as is necessary and let others know how biased and corrupt the powers that be really are up here. How do you imagine this minority group got into the position they are now in and how they wield so much power? They got there by moaning and groaning about everything, trivial nonsense included, as long as they could make others believe they were being persecuted!! Not something i would have advocated in the past but its plain to see that silence isn't and hasn't worked up until now!

I don`t think that even King thinks anything will come of this but following on the guy last week ,it is another case of bias and cover up being brought to the surface .
I believe this represents a change in attitude by the board following the announcement to investigate us again over European licenses from 7 years ago .They have decided that we`ve done our time for our perceived crime and we are bending over and taking it up the arse no longer.
He will keep the pressure on by highlighting anything like this until there is so much of it that it can`t be ignored.The compliance officer might be another one worth looking at .
Hopefully we will turn our attention to biased /incompetent /cheating refs as well next season.

Looks like we did know about it in January, but I guess we might not have known who owned the media group at that point I guess.

If this info was advised to robertson and he chose not to disclose it to the rest of the board then he should be thrown out the door.

Even if he didn’t they should take the opportunity to get rid anyway 😁
