PEDRO Caixinha says Rangers are close to having a fully fit first-team squad with Lee Wallace and Jordan Rossiter making progress on their long term injuries.
The club captain and midfielder Rossiter are the only two left on the treatment table with Niko Kranjcar, Danny Wilson and David Bates all back in full training with the squad this week.
Kranjcar and Wilson both played in the Development Squad’s win over Dundee United on Friday and Caixinha also confirmed Kenny Miller has recovered from the problem which kept him out of the team’s win at St Johnstone.
Speaking to RangersTV the Gers boss said: “The only player we can count out of the session today is Myles Beerman who is feeling sick.
“Niko and Danny will be with us from the start of this week, like Kenny, David Bates and Ryan Jack. They were more or less available to be with us but were out from the last game.
“We hope to have some news with Jordan Rossiter as well this week so things are going in the right direction to have the whole group together again.
“Niko and Danny now need rhythm, they are training on a daily basis and it was important for them to get minutes in order to get the rhythm and once they have that then they are fighting with the others.
“Kenny was a question of precaution, he trained okay before the match and then did a sort of treatment on Friday and now he’s four days further on so he is able to start training today (Tuesday). He pulled something in a finishing drill last week, something on the hamstring.
“We will find out this week when Jordan is able to start training with the team, it was a long term injury and he has been out for a lot of time so we need to get him back in action again.
“Lee Wallace is also progressing, he is the last one on the list but we know he is going to take time, probably between three or four weeks.”
Caixinha is preparing his side for Sunday’s League Cup semi-final this weekend with Motherwell lying between the Portuguese manager and his first final in charge of the Gers.
He continued: “I think it is going to be a very interesting match, a very difficult one. I have spent a lot of time over the past three days reorganising and reviewing the information we had gathered on Motherwell.
“I think it is going to be similar to the way the game was on matchday one so we just need to know how to prepare and be better it.
“We need to cope a little bit better with it and not suffer as much with those long balls, those quick transitions, those strong second waves and conceding a lot of set pieces.
“We need to manage the game differently in order to take it to the way we want it to be played rather than the opponent controlling it if we give them the chance.
“The last game we played against St Johnstone is a very good parameter to have a look at the way we want to attack and defend as a block.”
