F*cking ridiculous.Mate in Broughty Ferry says it's been pissing down for hours, getting heavier as time passes. Game will be off.Disgraceful that one club can f*ck up an entire league programme,as well as doing us out of another chance to go top.
F*cking tinpot league, tinpot club, tinpot administrators. There was no chance that game was going on,none. Heard a tentative approach was made to Dun Utd for use of their pitch, with VAR equipment installed, but they knocked it back. Make sure we beat the cnuts out of their top six place.Joke of a club.Motherwell risked relegation by spunking £1.25 million to fix their pitch after loads of complaints, make Dundee fix theirs,it fine them.
How can a pitch be playable , is then covered up to protect against the expected rain , but then fail the next inspection later in the day ? Did they hire the wrong thing from the scum , maybe used netting instead of tarpaulins ?
Its a disgrace and the casual way that the SPFL just come up with another date ( the same as Dundee suggested before the game ) makes me think it was never expected to be on and the apparent efforts to get the pitch fit was just a sham.
Hope it pisses down now until next Wednesday to see what the SPFL will do then.
RANGERS has written to the SPFL outlining its position following today’s further postponement of the Dundee Scottish Premiership fixture.
The negligence and unprofessionalism demonstrated by Dundee Football Club, where they have repeatedly breached SPFL rules, continues to have a damaging effect on the top professional league in the country.
In a week where record TV viewing figures were recorded for a match in the same competition, and this evening’s game due to be televised again by Sky Sports, this episode is deeply embarrassing and has also been eminently avoidable.
Rangers expects the SPFL to take proportionate and decisive action in accordance with its rules, and the club will continue to make representations to them in the strongest possible manner.
The club has been repeatedly putting forward solutions to the SPFL, which have not been taken up. It has again proposed a solution to the preparation and execution of this rescheduled fixture and is awaiting a response from the SPFL. As things stand, the rescheduled match will be on Wednesday, April 17 at 8pm. The club considers that this matter has been handled incorrectly throughout by both Dundee and the SPFL.
At this time, we sympathise fully once again with our supporters, approximately 4000 of whom were looking forward to attending tonight’s game. Having already been left hugely inconvenienced and out of pocket by the first postponement last month, it is entirely unacceptable and disrespectful on the part of Dundee FC to have allowed this situation to have developed again.
I see in some places we are being accused of refusing a request to play the game last Wednesday before the OF game totally ignoring the obvious in an attempt to change the narrative and shift some of the blame on to us.
First of all the SPFL would not ASK us to play the game last Wednesday , they would just have rearranged it and TOLD us to play it then. Secondly , SKY were due to televise this game and did not want it on when they had a full EPL programme including live games last Wednesday. Thirdly , would the Dens Park Duck Pond have been any better then , it rained a lot last week and was bad enough that their game with Motherwell , could , and probably should have been postponed on Saturday .That doesn`t suggest that it was any better last week than this . We have offered to play today , and at a neutral venue either yesterday or today we really can`t do any more short of offering to move it to Ibrox which I`m sure was never considered given the conspiracies it would throw up.
Can`t believe that idiot Drysdale blamed global warming when Tannadice which is across the street is playable , what an embarrassing a`hole .After the first couple of times they should have bought proper covers not relied on borrowing them from others when they know they have a problem .If they are fined the money should go to reimburse the Rangers fans and the rest used to buy the covers they seem so reluctant to spend money on .Maybe they should have used some of the money they have forked out on wages to the 10 loan signings they have brought up from England.
I read today that McDiarmid Park in Perth will be the alternative if Dens Park is unfit on Wednesday night .
Seem to remember that pitch was in awful condition when we played there earlier in the season. Bare , bumpy and uneven as I recall. Surely to god the SPFL can find a decent pitch for a game that is live on SKY and is another chance to showpiece our game.
How these guys can walk with all the bullet holes in their feet is beyond me.
The amount of vitriol directed at our players, and in some cases ,our manager, has been astonishing, but not going to say anything other than they deserve it,every f*cking word of it. We could be 5 points ahead of Scum right now, with a game in hand,if we had won our last three league games. Clement has been sucked in by the Tav/Goldson hype, unforgivably imo. Two guys who have been involved in every bottled big game since 2018,including a Europa league final, and who have spooked the whole team with their regular screw-ups in those games. Think we'll beat Dundee, also think we'll beat Hertz at weekend, but the soft centre of our team will eventually drop us in it again.
Always thought Tavernier wasn't that bright, especially when he was breeding bloody dangerous dogs, but his comment in the red tops today that Sunday was "out of character for us" confirms it...no,it was entirely in character for a team you captain in a crunch game....f*cking unreal lack of self awareness.
Can't see us keeping a clean sheet we look like conceding at least 2 a game and we look like needing 4000 chances to score 1 goal at the other end.
Also fed up of seeing Tavernier, Barisic, Goldson, Lundstram anywhere near our team and I'm just not seeing the potential with the likes of Dowell and Lawrence either.
Lawrence has never been same since that injury.Takes too long on ball, seems petrified to have a dig,and struggles to get into games.Think he is done, been unlucky, but done.Dowell needs a run of games to see if he can play into form.Lundstram showing why no big clubs came in for him,can be exceptional, then disappears for 5/6 games No comment needed about the other three, their time is up.Hard to believe Tavernier and Goldson are signed up till 2026.
